Because truth be told, I’m not a professional artist so school and work come before painting. When I had time or felt inspired, I made comics. I work out where my idea is going, I jot down the dialogue and then I swiftly sketch how it will break up into a page-panel format. And then I walk away for a few hours at least and if possible, more like an entire day.

It is quite easy to draw the comic since its content are mostly simplified. I usually ideate in the afternoon and illustrate during the evening. The comic is typically drawn in one full day of drawing, maybe all at once. Next, I let it sit a day so that when I revisit the piece on my post-day review eye, have corrected and improved what is necessary.
Comics can take months from concept to posting. I put that strip out about the Olympics last month, and I think it was at 80% by maybe March. I completed the cover art for another game in 2021, and I did some research on a real comic that was released about Rubik’s cubes but actually full can published/printed right when Covid became still very new so not going anywhere. Right now I don’t literally have any full comics lying around,” Jenkins wrote.

So we asked the artist if he ever had to dustbin a comic idea after starting it – and what made him do so. Jenkins said, “I throw more comic leads than I release. Over the last few months, I have easily put in a couple hours each idea into maybe 10 different ideas that never felt like they were going to be good enough.

The other was literally a list of 10 ‘Common Google Interview Mistakes’ where #1 referred to ‘Asking Jeeves’, but I didn’t know what else would be on the list. I have around 30 iterations of the phrase I used in sequels to an earlier comic about dogs at work called “rollover”
