Russian artist Anastasia, also known as ‘Stushona’ Ivanova, has been actively creating engaging comics that humorously depict everyday life. Her work has attracted a substantial following.
In her comics, Stushona’s alter ego often tackles common female issues, but she also surprises her audience with unexpected and amusing strips, such as enjoying coffee with human-sized croissants or explaining the Big Bang.

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,Stushona views creating comics as her way of communicating with the world. She mentions, “When I have something to say, I draw.” Most of her strips consist of four panels, a format she considers a visual haiku—a challenge to tell a clear and funny story concisely.
Stushona’s work routine remains largely unaffected, as she already worked from home. However, she humorously notes that being glued to her table all the time is great for creativity but not so great for her back.

In addition to her comics, Stushona is actively working on a book and managing an online store filled with interesting artwork. Yet, she continues to produce comics for her fans. Currently, she’s creating one focused on the theme of quarantine, finding a silver lining in the global unity that has emerged during this challenging time.
Stushona believes humor is essential in helping everyone maintain a positive outlook in the face of the ongoing crisis.
