We found out what inspired Marengo to start making his adorable comic series during our chat. She told me, “Initially I just wanted to write about what it means for an introvert. But then as I kept making comics, the longer it gave me something to do during a time when that was essential given the deep depression state of existence considering I hate those stupid diseases and why are they attacking more people than ever, the answer is you don’t like cells. In my case, it was that I wanted to create comics with a hook in them so people would stay and read.

Character design is another area we were curious to hear about, specifically in how Lambert goes about building out characters and what he considers when approaching the creation of a new character. I wanted to show a duller, somewhat more grey character design and not something shiny, as that was how I felt at the time,” says. Fortunately, it seems some other people have a soft spot for this little sheep nonetheless.

Finally, we asked what message or emotion you want the reader to elicit from your cartoons. To which the writer of the series, replied soberly: You are not alone. That message is often told through his comedic-punchline-comic format which sticks in the reader’s mind with unexpected ends.
